We have undertaken planning studies for retail regeneration in market towns in Wales and the Welsh Marches. Changes in use patterns of town centres, and legislation relating to taxation, planning and building bring severe pressures to bear on the fabric of market towns, in particular with the size of food retail units called for by operators and the demands of access and car parking requirements.
Studies of historic town layouts, streetscape and development patterns inform our proposals for new development; which aim to weave in new elements to repair broken urban fabric.
